Pelvic Floor Therapy

Take back control of your body.

Specialized pelvic floor physical therapy at our Glenview clinic, for leaks, pain, and pressure. We find why it's happening and treat it at the source, so your relief lasts.

Who this is for

Pelvic floor therapy can help if you

These are common, they're not something you just have to live with, and you're far from alone.

Why it's happening

It's rarely just the pelvic floor.

Your pelvic floor is part of your body's core system, working with your hips, low back, and even the way you breathe. When one of those isn't pulling its weight, the pelvic floor quietly compensates, and that's often where the leaks, pain, or pressure come from.

So we don't just treat the spot that hurts. Our therapists look at how your whole body moves to find the real cause, then build a plan around your body and your life, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

How we treat it

Hands-on, one-on-one, built around you.

Every plan is different. Here's the toolkit your therapist draws from.

Hands-on manual therapy

Skilled, gentle techniques to release tension and restore normal movement, so the right muscles can do their job.

Targeted exercise & retraining

Far more than Kegels. We retrain how your pelvic floor coordinates with your core and breathing to work automatically again.

Whole-body movement assessment

Pelvic floor problems rarely start and end at the pelvic floor. We look at how your hips, back, and breathing load it, and treat the cause.

Breathing & daily-habit coaching

Simple changes to how you breathe, lift, and move that protect your progress long after your visits end.

Insurance & cost

Most major insurance accepted. No referral needed.

In Illinois you can start physical therapy without a doctor's referral, so there's nothing standing between you and relief. We accept most major plans, and offer straightforward self-pay options if you prefer. Not sure about your coverage? We'll check it for you before your first visit.

Good questions

Pelvic floor therapy, answered.

Do I need a referral to be seen?
For most plans, no. In Illinois you can start physical therapy without a doctor's referral, so you can book directly with us. Medicare and workers' comp do require a referral, and we'll confirm your coverage before your first visit.
Is pelvic floor therapy covered by insurance?
Most major insurance plans cover it, and we're happy to check your specific coverage before your first visit. We also offer self-pay options if you prefer. Request an appointment and we'll take it from there.
What actually happens at the first visit?
It starts with a private conversation about your history and goals, followed by a whole-body movement assessment. Everything is done at your pace, with your comfort and consent leading every step. Nothing happens that you're not comfortable with.
Isn't this just doing Kegels?
No. Kegels are one small tool, and for many people they're not even the right one. Real pelvic floor therapy retrains how your pelvic floor coordinates with your core, hips, and breathing, and often focuses on learning to relax those muscles as much as strengthen them.
Can I come during or after pregnancy?
Yes. We work with patients preparing for birth and recovering afterward, from early pregnancy through postpartum. Care is always tailored to where you are.
Do you treat men too?
Absolutely. Pelvic floor issues affect people of every gender, including after prostate surgery or for chronic pelvic pain, and we care for all of them.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on your body and your goals, and your therapist will give you an honest estimate after your assessment. Many patients feel real improvement within the first few weeks.
