Ergonomic Training

Fix the setup that's hurting you.

Practical changes to how you sit, stand, lift, and work, so your everyday habits stop undoing the progress you make in therapy.

What it can do for you

What better ergonomics buys you.

Your daily setup is a dose of load, all day, every day.

Removes the slow drip

Fixes the positions that quietly load your neck, back, and wrists for hours a day.

Protects your progress

Stops your desk or job site from rebuilding the problem we just treated.

Cuts workday pain

Small setup changes often produce outsized relief by day's end.

Prevents repeat injuries

Smart lifting and movement habits are the cheapest injury insurance there is.

In plain English

So, what is it?

Ergonomic training is a practical review of the positions and movements your day actually contains: your desk and screens, your car, your lifting technique, the repetitive motions of your job or hobbies.

Then we change what matters, with adjustments and habits that fit your real equipment and real schedule. No lecture, no thousand-dollar chair required.

How we use it in your care

A tool, never the whole plan.

Here's the honest pairing: better ergonomics reduces the load; a stronger body handles more load. You need both, because no setup can be perfect all day.

So we fix the biggest position problems and strengthen you against the rest. That combination is why the pain doesn't come back when life gets busy.

Common questions, up front

Ergonomics, clarified.

The things everyone wants to know before their first visit.

Do I need expensive equipment?

Rarely. Most fixes are adjustments to what you own: heights, distances, angles, and habits. We'll tell you honestly if something's worth buying.

Is sitting really that bad?

Sitting isn't evil; unbroken hours in one position are. Movement snacks matter more than the perfect chair.

Can you assess my job tasks too?

Yes. Lifting, carrying, and repetitive job tasks are core ergonomic territory, especially for work-injury recovery.

Getting started

No referral needed. Most insurance accepted.

In Illinois you can start physical therapy without a doctor's referral. We accept most major plans, and self-pay options are available if you prefer. We'll check your coverage before your first visit so there are no surprises.

Good questions

Ergonomic training, answered.

Can you review my home office?
Yes. Bring photos or measurements of your setup, and we'll work through it together at your visit.
What about standing desks?
Useful as one more position to rotate through, not a cure-all. We'll help you use one well if you have it.
My job is physical, not a desk. Still relevant?
Very. Lifting mechanics and repetitive-task strategies are some of the highest-value coaching we do.
How fast will changes help?
Position changes often reduce end-of-day symptoms within days.
Do I need a referral?
For most plans, no. Illinois direct access lets you book directly with us. Medicare and workers' comp do require a referral, and we'll confirm your coverage before your first visit.
