Graded, gentle techniques that restore the natural glide of a stiff joint, so movement stops feeling pinched and starts feeling smooth.

Small motions with a big payoff.

Joints roll and slide in tiny ways you never notice, until they stop. We restore that.

Frees the restrictions that make reaching, turning, or squatting feel blocked.

Gentle oscillating techniques can quiet an irritated joint surprisingly well.

A joint that moves freely is one you can strengthen. That's how gains stick.
Every joint has small accessory motions, rolls, glides, and spins, that make big movements possible. Injury, surgery, or years of stiffness can rob a joint of that play.
Joint mobilization is a hands-on technique where your therapist applies precise, graded pressures to restore those motions, from gentle oscillations that ease pain to firmer stretches that win back range.
A stiff joint usually isn't the whole story. Something made it stiff, an old injury, a compensation, months in a sling or a boot, and something has to keep it moving once it's free.
We mobilize the joint, then immediately put the new motion to work with strengthening and movement retraining, so your body learns to keep the range we won back.
The things everyone wants to know before their first visit.
No. Mobilization uses controlled, graded pressure, not the quick thrust of an adjustment. Most of it feels like firm, rhythmic stretching.
It's worked within your tolerance. Some techniques stretch into mild discomfort at end range, and your therapist adjusts to your feedback.
Range often improves within a session. Keeping it is the job of the exercises that follow.
In Illinois you can start physical therapy without a doctor's referral. We accept most major plans, and self-pay options are available if you prefer. We'll check your coverage before your first visit so there are no surprises.
"…The main therapist I worked with was Rachel, and she helped me greatly. They listened to what I was telling them, and adjusted my program in the appropriate way. After a few weeks my symptoms greatly improved."
"This practice offers unique and total care. They offer a significant amount of body work (massage, mobilization, dry needling, etc), along with new strength training and stretching exercises. Very friendly and welcoming staff!"
