TRX Suspension Training

Your body is the machine.

Suspension straps that scale your own body weight into exactly the right challenge, from gentle early rehab to full athletic power.

What it can do for you

Why we reach for the straps.

One tool, infinitely adjustable.

Scales to any level

A single angle change makes an exercise gentler or brutally hard. Perfect for rehab's moving target.

Trains movements, not muscles

Squats, rows, presses, and hinges, the patterns your life is built from.

Builds core with everything

The instability makes your trunk work in every single exercise, automatically.

Supports you while you learn

The straps assist balance early on, then become the challenge later.

In plain English

So, what is it?

TRX is a pair of adjustable suspension straps anchored overhead. By leaning, hanging, or supporting part of your weight through them, your own body becomes fully adjustable resistance.

That adjustability is why it lives in rehab clinics as much as gyms: the same row that helps a post-surgical shoulder gently move becomes, at a steeper angle, a serious strength exercise.

How we use it in your care

A tool, never the whole plan.

In your plan, TRX shows up wherever functional, scalable resistance is the right prescription, often bridging the gap between early table exercises and free-weight strength.

It's one voice in the choir. Your program blends it with hands-on care and other loading so every phase of recovery has the right challenge.

Common questions, up front

TRX, clarified.

The things everyone wants to know before their first visit.

Isn't TRX for fit gym people?

It scales down as far as it scales up. We use it with post-surgical patients and grandparents as often as athletes.

Is it safe if my balance is poor?

Often it's the safest option, because the straps support you while you train the balance itself.

Can I keep using it after discharge?

Yes, and that's part of the appeal. A home strap kit costs little and carries your program forward.

"I saw Daria for a rotator cuff injury and had a successful course of treatment over 3 months. Everybody is friendly and helpful, the assistants are great at overseeing exercises too. I recommend this facility for injury rehab."

Good questions

TRX in rehab, answered.

I've never used TRX. Will I be lost?
No. Every exercise is coached from the ground up, and the first positions are simple and supported.
Is it enough to build real strength?
Body-weight suspension work builds serious strength, and we combine it with other loading when your goals need more.
Can older adults use it?
Absolutely. The built-in hand support makes it one of our favorite tools for older patients.
Should I buy one for home?
If you like it, a home kit is an inexpensive way to continue your program. We'll set yours up safely.
Do I need a referral?
For most plans, no. Illinois direct access lets you book directly with us. Medicare and workers' comp do require a referral, and we'll confirm your coverage before your first visit.
